Une collection est un groupe de manifestations séparées qui sont reliées entre elles par le fait que chaque manifestation a, en plus de son propre titre propre, un titre collectif appartenant au groupe dans son ensemble. Chaque ressource peut être numérotée ou non; ou être une suite numérotée séparément de volumes ou d’éditions au sein d’une collection ou d’une publication en série.

Eine Reihe ist eine Gruppe getrennter Manifestationen, die durch die Tatsache miteinander in Verbindung stehen, dass jede Manifestation zusätzlich zu ihrem eigenen Haupttitel einen übergeordneten Titel trägt, der zur Gruppe als Ganzes gehört. Es kann sich dabei entweder um eine fortlaufende Ressource, typischerweise eine monografische Reihe, oder um eine mehrteilige Monografie handeln. Die einzelnen Ressourcen können gezählt oder ungezählt sein.
